Sir Jerome McElroy or Chef Isaac Hayes or whatever replied to the last post, suggesting that I hire a team of 24 hour technicians for the new system. Well, he's wrong for two reasons.
#1. Look no further than Creative having no idea why there's a very common problem with one of their own sound cards (the Audigy LS) or how to fix it. I know more than those clowns. Why would I pay for incompetence?
#2. If anything, Madonna needs to hire a 24 hour RESEARCH TEAM!
With previous systems, I've focused on building a good system for a decent price, and normally have focused on getting a mid-level video card, which is what I thought I was getting with the 5700 LE. After doing some research, though, I can see why I could've sworn I was still running my Ti4200 - because the 5700 LE (LE for LIGHT Edition, as in what Bud Light is to Budweiser) barely outperforms the Ti4200.
Annoyed with myself, I took it back yesterday and turned it in for a real card. I doubt I'll need to worry about upgrading the video anytime soon...
Now, if only I can figure out why my sound card isn't letting me adjust bass and treble. Better yet, Creative needs to figure it out. I'm not the only one who's run into the problem, and there seems to be no proven fix (and that includes "Changing the speaker settings", Creative!)
