Time goes by so slowly for those who wait...

  • Sometimes the simplest is the bestest.
  • Where I am, nearly a month later...
  • In loving and eternal memory of Ingrid Fullington:...
  • The Price Is Right: September 4, 1972-July 17, 200...
  • Only another year older?
  • Oh boy.
  • Somehow, someway, I'm still here
  • Yes, I'm still alive
  • Another one in the books...
  • Out with the old, in with the new.. Or something.

It's getting way too damned crowded on the Streets Of Heaven
First off, my condolences to Rob, who's grandmother passed away Thursday. You and your family are in my heart and thoughts, and may your grandmother rest in peace. If you need someone to talk to, you know where to find me.

I also was just told that we've lost yet another singer from the 80's. Laura Branigan, famous for the hits "Gloria" and "Self Control" in the early 1980's died of a brain aneurysm in her sleep Thursday at the age of 47. May she rest in peace, and may her talents be appreciated in the great beyond, because they sadly never were appreciated by the music industry for many years now.

    I'm So Stupid
Sir Jerome McElroy or Chef Isaac Hayes or whatever replied to the last post, suggesting that I hire a team of 24 hour technicians for the new system. Well, he's wrong for two reasons.

#1. Look no further than Creative having no idea why there's a very common problem with one of their own sound cards (the Audigy LS) or how to fix it. I know more than those clowns. Why would I pay for incompetence?

#2. If anything, Madonna needs to hire a 24 hour RESEARCH TEAM!

With previous systems, I've focused on building a good system for a decent price, and normally have focused on getting a mid-level video card, which is what I thought I was getting with the 5700 LE. After doing some research, though, I can see why I could've sworn I was still running my Ti4200 - because the 5700 LE (LE for LIGHT Edition, as in what Bud Light is to Budweiser) barely outperforms the Ti4200.

Annoyed with myself, I took it back yesterday and turned it in for a real card. I doubt I'll need to worry about upgrading the video anytime soon...

Now, if only I can figure out why my sound card isn't letting me adjust bass and treble. Better yet, Creative needs to figure it out. I'm not the only one who's run into the problem, and there seems to be no proven fix (and that includes "Changing the speaker settings", Creative!)

Bye Bye Baby (No, I'm not the one leaving)
This is the end of an era. This will be my last post... under this old computer and setup.

I've just finished assembling the NEW Material Computer: Athlon 64 3000+ with a FX5700 LE video card GeForce 6800 GT (256 megs of video RAM) and 1 GB of DDR400 RAM.

This sucker is going to make my last system look like, well, my first computer. And, yes, it was a Commodore 64! Ahh, those were the days... Back before I was a complete and utter slut. :P

See you on the new setup.

Birthday greetings to the person who has given me much amusement
    Happy Birthday to you
    Happy Birthday to you
    Happy Birthday, Grandma Esther
    Happy Birthday to you

And since we're a good girl now, I suppose that means no strippers in birthday cakes, no using your birthday candles to drip hot wax on chests, and no birthday spankings (complete with handcuffs), right?

Must be tough getting old. :P

PS- Does this mean it's my birthday too?

    Burning Up
"I'd like to begin by saying first to Roosevelt E. Roosevelt: 'What it is... what it shall be... what it was.' Weather out there is hot and shitty, with continued hot and shitty through the rest of the afternoon. Tomorrow, a chance of continued crappy with a pissy weather front coming down from the north. Basically, it's gonna be hotter than a snake's ass in a wagon rut." - Adrian Crounauer, impersonating Walter Cronkite.

Everyone's favorite new queen of pop spent too much time Tuesday walking and sweating - thank goodness I left the stiletto heels at home. While sweating can be fun, that kind of sweating isn't. Fortunately, got all the paperwork for my (hopeful) new palace complete. Hopefully I'll get some good news Friday. The sooner that this place USED to be my playground, the better. Bye bye baby, indeed.

Shoutouts to Rob, who has also linked me. Anyone else who reads and hasn't linked, well... Just open your heart.

    Oh What A Circus
(Isn't it fun to title these posts after Madonna's songs? Or Esther's songs? Or my songs? Does this mean I get to celebrate two birthdays? Geez, maybe I am losing it.)

Ever feel like you're expected to be in two places at once? That's what this week has felt like. Reinvention Tour by night, relocation tour by day. Everyone's favorite (new) Material Girl has had her hands full this week, trying to move into a palace more befitting on a (new) pop queen and get out of a place that would make Tupac proud. It's gone about as smoothly as Shanghai Surprise did. As Leonard McCoy once said, the beaurocratic mentality is the only constant in the universe. It'd be nice if loved did make the world go 'round, instead of red tape and useless paperwork.

All the stress and chaos, combined with the fact this IS August 5th, has indeed made me act like a Bad Girl - drunk by six (am), and have smoked too many cigarettes today. Of course, I haven't kissed anyone else's lips - more like I'm worried about getting fucked up the ass without a kiss.

Maybe things will settle down next week.

Maybe next week I'll finally be in my new palace. I can be singing about how this USED to be my playground, and show these people the power of goodbye.

Shoutouts to everyone reading this and who has linked to me. That means, well... Hi Krissie!
