KS had asked recently (and I'll have to go back later today and catch up on all the comments. My poor brain can only do so much at this point) if the last stretch is the worst. I'd have to say no. You realize you're closing in on the finish, that you've just about made it, and the adrenaline kicks in.
In fact, I found last year that the hardest part at the end was relaxing well enough to finally get to sleep when it's all said and done.
"You're hurt. You're tired. You're bleeding. I'm gonna make you a promise. We get into that endzone, you're not gonna feel any pain." - Paul Blake, Necessary Roughness
And just as I didn't feel any pain when I "got into that endzone" on May 17, an didn't feel any pain when I "got into that endzone" last July, it's the same here. Sure, I will likely feel plenty of pain when I wake up later today, but at the moment, I feel nothing but relief and joy at making it yet again - and doing my part to make a difference.
It's amazing how that works, isn't it? Adrenaline is one hell of a chemical.
And, those of us on the "A-Team" are almost into that end zone. Just another 90 minutes to go, and we'll put another successful Blogathon in the books.
And next year, fate permitting, we're going to do it again. Pat Riley isn't the only one who can throw three-peat around!
